Dodgers win behind Kershaw, lead Giants by 3 games

The news might be hard to swallow for the orange-and-black faithful even if the numbers are indisputable and the weekend series at AT&T Park served only to confirm them.

With two weeks left in the regular season, the Giants’ chances of catching the Dodgers for the National League West title are not good.

The Dodgers have a three-game lead with 13 to play after taking two of the three games and winning Sunday's deciding matchup 4-2 behind Clayton Kershaw.

Insurmountable? Only a fool with no sense of baseball history would say yes. However, both teams have relatively easy schedules over the final two weeks and the Dodgers will host the final head-to-head series, with Kershaw and Zack Greinke starting two of the three games.

That is important, because those two have started six of the Dodgers’ eight wins against the Giants in 2014.

...that is hard news to follow for the orange and black. I know the Giants have lacked some consistency the last few months, but I'm still in high hopes that things will turn out ok. I just wish I could make it out to one more game before the season ends, but I just can't.
