Michael Morse could give Giants a power boost in NLCS

The Giants are hoping to make just one change to their National League Championship Series roster, and it would be a biggie.

Michael Morse, who has had just two at-bats since Aug. 31 because of an oblique strain, will play two games in the Arizona instructional league Thursday and Friday to prepare for a role in the NLCS.

“If all goes well, I anticipate Morse will be on the roster,” manager Bruce Bochy said.

However, Bochy stopped short of saying Morse would start in left field, although Bochy hinted it was possible when asked if Travis Ishikawa would play every day because the Cardinals’ rotation is fully right-handed.
