Unfortunately he never made it to the 'Big Show'. He was a pitcher.

As crazy as it sounds, I'm reading Cashman wrote, like, seventy songs about baseball!

Both Cashman and Fogerty's songs have been 'Inducted' into Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame, along with John Fogerty's baseball bat guitar (he had more than one made)

Now though the version he did for the Simpsons is more well know than the original.

I'm guessing Cashman was honored, and had a blast doing it.

Thanks

The lyrics are so tight, I suspect the writers helped, but Terry's soft distinctive voice drove it out of the park

Well, Mr. Burns had done it,
The Power Plant had won it,
With Roger Clemens clucking all the while,
Mike Scioscia's tragic illness made us smile,
While Wade Boggs lay unconscious on the bar-room tile.

We're talkin' softball,
From Maine to San Diego,
Talkin' softball,
Mattingly and Canseco,
Ken Griffey's grotesquely swollen jaw,
Steve Sax and his run-in with the law,
We're talkin' Homer,
Ozzie and the Straw.

Remember, he was drafted by the Yankees and he came up through their minor league system.
