Update: Last week I told you about the Mockingbird nest outside my window.

I've been checking on the nest every couple of days. Yesterday all four nestlings were still there and cheeky enough to give me the stinkeye when I peeked in on them.

Today I hadn't seen any activity from the adult birds, so I went out to check. The nest is empty! I checked the ground around the bush and saw no signs of babies on the ground, so I assume they have fledged and flown. They only spend 12-13 days in the nest after hatching. Since they were pretty well feathered out last week when I first looked at them, I suppose it was time for them to go. I hope they all made it safely.

Once or twice a year a mockingbird will visit us here in north Georgia, but they don't hang around. They just sing for a day or two and then leave.

We haven't had a mockingbird at our house for a while, but we have lots of other types of birds. Glad you got enjoy the babies even if it was just for a short while. Take care.
