Recent storms drove shorebirds north along the Susquehanna River. We seldom see so many great egrets gathered here. Taken today south of Columbia, PA.

(152,898 posts)They remind me of what I saw at High Island in Texas with Andy. But there they were expected! It was spring and they were raising their chicks.
These egrets picked a beautiful port to escape from the recent storms!

Never so many. That's an amazing sight. Perched in trees like Christmas ornaments. Cool!

The birds were about an eighth of a mile away and the only way to get close was by boat. The serious birders along the shore were grousing about the kayakers spooking the birds. Can't say I blame them.

looks like u had a irruption of birds there , not an eruption.
