I have calla lilies blooming right by my door, and a hummingbird was sampling the flowers. Nice picture!

Here in the Lehigh Valley, PA, we had a pair at our hummy feeder all summer. Now, we haven't seen them in a week... guess they headed south... miss them. Good luck with yours.

I think last year I had stragglers right up until the last week of September. Infrequent though. I keep the feeders out. Fall comes just a little later here in Delaware than in the Lehigh valley I guess. Yes when I thought they were gone I was getting a little depressed. It happens every year

That last one I sighted took a nice long sip; getting ready? Then again, I only had a few visiting the feeder - one male and two females. Arrived mid April this year; I expect they're gone...went through almost 10 lb of sugar for refills at small feeder in front and larger one in the back because of long stretches of 90s that quickly fermented the DIY nectar this summer. Even the North Forty Inches garden tomatoes are just about finished; we usually put the garden to bed last weekend in September...patio cushions mid October. Love fall season; now it's sure getting darker earlier, but Winter is Coming!

Last spring and early summer I panicked because they disappeared. But I kept hoping, and replenishing their nectar. Then, as if by magic, they came back - WITH BABIES!!!

Now my yard is hummingbird central again!

And I always think they’re not coming back, but of course they do. Thank goodness
