I did not know this:
If the group of geese is flying, it is called a skein. On the water, it's a gaggle.

I just walked by a tree in front of the CVS, and it was buzzing-- hundreds of sparrows resting on the branches before heading out again.

USUALLY @ this time of year, they appear around here for a few weeks (I think,) and they disappear, so this may be their resting place.

Neat birds, especially when you see a bunch of them all at once. Where I'm at, we along the rivers (Missouri and Mississippi Rivers) so a lot of birds follow these pathways up and down (north and south, depending on the time of the year).

a goose family 'stole' our osprey nest in March, took it over so the osprey pair (who visit here annually) were unable to establish a family this year.

Did watch adult geese teaching goslings to walk around, and of course plenty poop too.
