Hopefully the team took a step forwards and won't go back.

"Just wait 'til next year" is tattooed on our foreheads. Beating FSU is our solace. And the long suffering Noles actually have a competitive team this year. Good for them. I root for all the Florida teams when they're not playing each other....

I actually feel sorry for the Sooners. Something I don't think I ever did before.

... contenders in the following years with Ewers as their QB, if they surround him with sufficient talent. Wide receivers with great hands will be important for Ewers' very strong arm. He reminds me of John Elway with his arm strength!

I knew that he'd transfer back to Texas after his one-year NIL stint at Ohio State (NIL income wasn't legal in Texas at that time), especially since he wasn't going to beat out CJ Stroud as a late-arriving freshman.

Speaking of the Buckeyes, I think they have a great chance of winning another national title this year. After Stroud goes to the NFL, though, such aspirations seem very unlikely. Especially with Ewers back in his home state of Texas.

The future looks bright in Texas, though!

Alabama would be excited about the prospect of beating another "Yankee" school too.

to the high octane OSU offense, which has been impressive so far. Bama has the deepest bench in the country, but on any given Saturday...college football is as exciting and unpredictable as any sport. (Used to be anyway.)

... will be AT Penn State on October 29th, despite how I think Michigan (home game) is a better team between them.

It's usually rough at "Happy" Valley for Ohio State because of the rabid fans who seem to always have a chip on their shoulders, regardless of their past success.

Penn State's Happy Valley a hostile environment for Ohio State...

But a trip to Penn State consists of wall-to-wall intimidation. "The fans are waiting for you as soon as you come out of the hotel," said Cordle. "You get on the team bus, and all the fans are already walking toward the stadium. Their students are lining the sides of the road, and they're rocking the bus and throwing beer cans at it."

Penn State's stadium is almost as large as the Big House at Michigan. The visiting locker room is a bit cozier. "It's like an old shack," said Cordle. "It's maybe 10 feet across and 30 feet long, and the training room is about 5-by-5. Try getting the whole team taped in a room that's 5-by-5. And whatever the temperature is outside is what it is in the shack."

In 2005, Penn State students bombarded the Ohio State band with so many projectiles, including balloons filled with urine, that the band did not make the trip two years later. The night of the balloon barrage, many better-behaved Penn State fans, who confined their efforts to lending support to their team, made the OSU players swear the ground was shaking. Nothing has ever shaken, rattled and rolled like that at the Horseshoe.

Video of ridiculous behavior:

My new sister-in-law's son played for Akron in 2009 when they played at Penn State, and she attended the game while wearing an Akron jersey. Young people from Penn State's student section SPIT ON HER as she walked past them! She turned around and yelled, "I'm here to watch my son play for Akron! Akron, for crying out loud!! What the hell is wrong with you?!" Then she continued walking, not experiencing further problems from the older Penn State fans who were seated near her.

The Penn St fans must be their farm team. My son and I had a bad experience in Gainesville with some Gator fans. Mostly verbal from a group of drunks. It could have gone south quickly if any of the shit they threw at us (beer cans half full) had landed. We never went back.
