(20,292 posts)I certainly believe that the Dallas D is for real. But a better test should come next week when Aaron Rodgers and the Jets come to town. A second shutout of a New York team should cause an East Coast riot!

(6,734 posts)You go to bed - hating the Cowboys and Dallas. You wake up, hating the Cowboys and Dallas. Pure, bitter hatred. Typical.

(6,734 posts)Dallas is the most hated city in the United States. I've been here 62 years, and there are still idiots blaming Dallas for what happened on Nov. 22, 1963. And, it's carried over to our sports' teams. I remember an Onion article when the Mavericks were playing the Lebron James Miami Heat in 2011 for the NBA championship, and it's title was something like, "Americans Can't Believe They're Pulling for a Dallas Team." Yep, irrational, sad hatred

(17,848 posts)I swear on my life I didn't know at the time, but I was drunk watching the Jets game. Looking at it now, it looks like only the c is out of place.

(666 posts)But, I was born in Wyoming and Dallas stole their name from our little "cow college" in Laramie.
They are just a big pile of money next to a big town in Texas to Wyomingites.
And, the thievery doesn't end there.
The Jackson Hole Broncos had their name stolen by another big pile of money next to Denver.
Presently, I am a big fan of hockey with stun guns because it's anyone's game until your batteries run out.

(6,734 posts)There are plenty of real Cowboys in Texas. Cowboys is pretty generic, actually.

(5,124 posts)The one Cowboys player I'm kind of happy for this morning is Noah Igbinoghene, who returned the blocked field goal attempt for the Cowboys first touchdown of the season.
Noah was much maligned in Miami, and from a CB standpoint quite frankly couldn't cover a Chicken Fried Steak. Unfortunately for him, he was drafted far too high (30th overall pick) in the 2020 draft, which raised Dolphin fan's expectations of what he would be able to contribute. Coming out of college, he was considered a "project player", as he had switched from WR to CB his senior year at Auburn. If a Cowboys fan asked me directly about Noah, I would say he may become a good to great special teams player, but temper your expectation of him as a CB, as he demonstrated almost no ball awareness skills in Miami.
From all reports, Noah was a really good teammate, unfortunately he couldn't put it together for the Dolphins. Perhaps he can make an impact for the Cowboys. Sometimes, a change in scenery can do a person good.
That said, we're coming to put the L on the Cowboys on Christmas Eve.

(6,734 posts)Remember, the Giants not only made the playoffs last year, but actually won a playoff game in Minnesota.
This was actually for Auggie.

(31,802 posts)thanks for thinking of me. That was a very satisfying win for 49er fans.

(6,734 posts)You questioned Dallas' performance against a team that won a playoff game last year, while "thanking me" for pointing out San Fran's win and how "satisfying" it was. The Steelers haven't won a playoff game since 2016. You see the problem with your questioning Dallas' performance against a playoff team from last year and then calling San Fran's win satisfying? I guarantee Dallas' win was much more dominating and monumental.
But, you're a San Fran fan. Nuff said.
