Are the Cowboys pretenders? (Original Post) calguy Dec 2023 OP
I would say yes . Not enough offensive weapons and Dak is not a proven big game winner chicoescuela Dec 2023 #1

Were they impressive against the Iggles or were the Iggles impressively horrible last week. And going to Miami next week ain’t the remedy pretenders need. Terry Bradshaw butchered the Cowboys after the game. It was well deserved.

They've played only 5 games against good teams (and lost 4 of them). The best team they've beat, other than the Eagles, are the Seahawks.

Dak splits home and away show that they are pretenders.

Away from the friendly calls and crowds of Jerry world , they are mediocre.

The only great team in the NFL this year is the 49ers.

Unless one of CMC/deebo and the left tackle get hurt at the same time again , I can't see them losing.

They've already destroyed both the 'boys and the green birds. Philly wouldn't have even been in last year's Super Bowl if Purdy hadn't been injured. This year is all about unfinished business.

They’re a fraud. Purdy is being exposed. Hint - don’t speak until the final play. 49ers fans have never been too bright.

After destroying the Eagles, Dallas believed the hype and went in soft this week. Jim Harbuagh, as 49er coach, warned the team often about letting up against lesser opponents (he does the same with the Wolverines).

He invented a character called "Freddy P. Soft" who, according to Harbaugh, works as follows:

"He's a four inch guy, that wears a cape and a hat with a plume in it. He's just tall enough to talk right into your ear and tells you, 'You don't have to practice today,' 'Why are you working so hard?' or "Get over there in the shade. There's no reason to attack with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind today. So take break. Take a knee.'"

"Yeah. He's a guy that you don't want around. You want to get him off your shoulder as fast as possible."

Not all NFL coaches are as corny as Harbaugh, but they do take the concept seriously: never let up.

Something got to the Cowboys this week, and Buffalo's new resolve flattened them.

I was a little worried that my Niners would suffer the same fate yesterday when the lowly Cardinals played them tough early in the game. Luckily they got their killer instinct intact and dominated the second half.

Very much looking forward to the Niners/Ravens match-up Christmas night. It could very well be a preview into this year's Super Bowl.

Everyone seemed to picked it up a little. I mention Freddy P. Soft because he was in the news this week courtesy of the SF Chronicle.

Yeah. I'm looking forward to Christmas night too.

Purdy is looking like Montana -- same style of play, same instinct, same nuances.

Totally being dominated at home. Yeah, your team has business to take care of.
