49ers reportedly pitch Brandon Aiyuk new contract offer or trade to Steelers
When Brandon Aiyuk reflected on his offseason contract drama with the San Francisco 49ers in late June, the All-Pro wide receiver revealed there had been moments when an agreement seemed imminent.
“Throughout this process, there were times we were super close,” Aiyuk said on the Pivot Podcast, “where I’d tell people and my agent, ‘Let me get my suit ready.’”
Six weeks later, Aiyuk might finally be poised to hold his contract extension news conference — but it’s not clear if it will be held in Santa Clara or Pittsburgh.
The 49ers have a new deal on the table for Aiyuk, and they also have an agreement in place to trade their All-Pro wide receiver to the Steelers, who are prepared to sign him to the extension he’s sought for the past six months, NFL Network reported.
