New lawsuit accuses Browns' Deshaun Watson of sexual assault, battery

Read the entire article. What is described in the lawsuit is rape.

Scenario: Watson meets a woman in a restaurant and they agree to meet at her apartment for dinner.

On the evening of the date, according to the lawsuit, she said Watson had trouble finding her apartment and began aggressively yelling and screaming at her on the phone, saying he didn't "have time for this."

The lawsuit alleges that, while applying makeup in her bathroom, the woman then found Watson "completely naked on her bed, lying face down on his stomach." Watson then requested the woman massage his buttocks and the woman "tried to appease Watson by rubbing his back, rather than his buttocks," according to the lawsuit.

Watson then turned over and "continued to demand that Jane Doe massage him, gesturing from his knees to his groin," according to the lawsuit. The woman told Watson that she was not a masseuse, to which Watson asked her what she wanted to do instead, the suit alleges.

Before the woman could answer, Watson "partially disrobed Jane Doe and penetrated her vagina without consent, implicit or explicit," according to the lawsuit, which also alleges that Watson sexually assaulted the woman for several minutes before she escaped and grabbed a heavy piece of decor for self-defense. Watson then "stormed out of Jane Doe's apartment," according to the lawsuit.

Watson served an 11-game suspension in 2022. I wonder if the Browns were smart enough include a clause to nullify his ridiculous contract if further accusations of sexual assault and rape were to surface?

Probably not.

They deserve every bit of vitriol and every flushed dollar they paid him. Fuck them.

as though I think he is innocent of being a creep, I do not. However, not one of the previous 22 women’s claims were able to be adjudicated. Not one went to trial. 2 Texas Grand Juries found his behaviors were not the basis for charges.
Now this. From 2020.
The fan base here in Cleveland has hated him from day one. The constant bullying, the constant hate mail, the constant name calling. Now this.
My entire point is his previous behaviors sound like they were from an entitled arrogant rich young male with little to no respect or maturity that basically grew up with no guidance.
In Cleveland however, the color of your skin can be a negative with this fan base, they have not given him a chance and with his shoulder injury, he has fallen to a low. Actually, the entire team is a hot mess. The offensive line, the non existence of a running game, the defense blowing coverages. And Watson being hammered to the ground with no protection.
And thrown into the mix, are bully's.
It is a developing story, hard to see a good ending for Watson.

If anyone in Cleveland doesn't like Watson it's for a reason other than being black.

I grew up in the area, 60s and 70's. The Cleveland Indians were the first A.L. team with a black player, Larry Doby, who joined the team just after Jackie Robinson joined the Dodgers. Browns fans worshipped Jim Brown. Cleveland was the first large city in the U.S. to elect a black mayor, Carl Stokes, and they elected his brother, Louis Stokes, to Congress in 1968. There was Frank Robinson of the Indians too -- first black manager in baseball.

He was previously a highly-coveted scumbag who had a lot to offer on the field (not that his athletic talent should overshadow his transgressions/crimes, but that's often the way the world works).

Now, Watson is a shadow of his former self on the gridiron (still well paid, mind you) and his shitty behavior could very well catch up with him more and more.

The dude in Houston had a 250 lb running machine that supplemented his limited passing ability. I always thought with that running back - anyone would look good.

had to be the best in the NFL for Cleveland. Watson should have benefitted just as much or more from that, but he's fallen off drastically.

I was not referring to your thread. I posted a reply here and it went up twice, so I edited my second, identical post to read "Dupe." And that is what I meant I've been seeing happen more frequently on DU.

No fault of yours whatsoever!

Wouldn't be surprised if they knew, either. Maybe not the front office, but some of the team and maybe a coach or two. Word gets around in a locker room, you know?
