1. UCLA’s Jim Mora, California's highest-paid public employee didn't even make the list

2. California has had some extraordinary financial demands lately.

If Mora takes UCLA to 'the promised land' I'm sure California can find some more money.

Saban needs a raise? - close state offices in the Black Belt! We'll find those important dollars!

But Cal's Sonny Dykes looks to be positioning himself for favorable contract negotiations down the road. Bummer, he's only two years into a five year contract with a base salary of $250,000, although some red meat bonuses in his contract are kicking in.
