The Vegas Bowl was awesome!!
Maaco really picked a good team to play in that bowl game again this year.
50 wins in 4 years for Kellen Moore!!
Man, that really says something about the lameass BCS system.

(4,886 posts)I would have bet on Boise State against Clemson, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, or Michigan. And I'd bet they would give Stanford or Wisconsin one hell of a run for their money.
Boise will have to have a couple of rebuilding years while they replace Moore and all those defensive starters, but they were absolutely legit this year. I think they could have won any conference or division this year with the exception of the SEC West or the PAC-12 North.

(29,349 posts)The fact that bowl organizers can choose based on which crowd following is most likely to show up in large numbers is BS. It should be based on the best teams in the country even if it means half the stadium is empty.

(11,682 posts)The BCS is supposed to pick the best teams based on many, many factors that limit teams like Boise St. because of their "weak" conference. They played a heck of a bowl game and its a shame that they have been left out year after year. (and this is coming from an SEC homer)

I don't know how long you've been watching football.

(41,692 posts)But I'll play...
I was 10 in 1966---Colts were my first favorite team because it was my Dads team---Unitas, Mackey, Bubba Smith, ...and so on...
Shula came to my home town Miami and it was the Phins ever since.
I know too much football.
Thing is---I'm a stat guy... I don't think stats lie. Same with strength of schedule.
If Boise state played in the SEC, they'd go 5-5 ---errr maybe.

(16,113 posts)They'd have had the usual 3 cream-puff games as most SEC teams do, they already beat Georgia, and I'd like their chances against Tennessee, Kentucky, Vandy, the Mississippi schools. Florida, SC, and Auburn might have been good games, but I don't like their chances with Arkansas, Alabama and LSU. In the SEC East, they could have won 8 or 9 games. In the West, maybe 6. I think next year would be a bloodbath if they were in the SEC, though.
Of course, if they were in the SEC, they'd be able to get better recruits, so who knows what the team would look like. I don't think an SEC team would even recruit Kellan Moore, and that worked out pretty good for Boise.
