(24,853 posts)Gawd that's gotta hurt. I wish I had money on the game.

(29,324 posts)I'm still not sold on Tebow as a long-term solution for my Broncos, but that was a wickedly fun game to watch. And there's no doubt he played well today. Easily the best he's played since the Minnesota game. He only made one real glaring mistake, that I could see (underthrowing Thomas, I think it was, on 3rd down with 2 minutes left in regulation).

(24,853 posts)And yes, I was disappointed with the underthrow. Wickedly fun to watch is right though. The supposed worst QB in football lit up the #1 defense in the league.
I remember hearing a long time ago that any given team can beat any given team on any given day. Or something like that.
It sure rang true today.
I thought the play calls today were intended to let Tebow be Tebow.

(29,324 posts)Obviously the play-action pass in overtime was a perfect play call, but the rest of the game was good as well.
Of course, it doesn't matter if the playcalling is good if the players don't make the plays, and Tebow executed the plays that he needed to today. I've been critical of his play this season, and generally think he's gotten more hype for the wins than he deserved, at the expense of other elements (running game, offensive line, defense, and playcalling). But today he hit the passes that he needed to. If he doesn't hit those first few long passes, the great playcalls don't matter and the Steelers defense can continue teeing off on the running game, as they had been up until that point. He played a great game against a great (if somewhat hurting) defense.
Now if they can find a way to do the same in Foxboro
