Urban Meyer to Browns?

Jason La Canfora, CBS Sports / 12-22-19

The Cleveland Browns could be poised to make big changes again pending the results of their final two games, league sources said, with ownership continuing to assess the performance of the staff. If the Haslams do opt to make a coaching change, they could provide Urban Meyer's best chance of leaping to the NFL.

Jimmy Haslam has a very strong bond with Meyer, the sources said, and the two have long been confidants. Meyer has often shared inside information on his Ohio State players with the owner in the past -- with the owner privileged to player reports and potential red flags that most if not all teams close to that program were not aware of. It was not uncommon at all for the men to be in conversation and act as a sounding board for one another, and Meyer has a unique cache in Ohio based on his successful stint with the Buckeyes.

"Jimmy Haslam is as close to Urban Meyer as he is with the Mannings," said one source with direct knowledge of the situation, noting Haslam's ties to Peyton Manning and his family as a huge University of Tennessee booster. And several of Haslam's job searches in the past have included conversations with, and interviews of, college coaches, with that a model that he has considered.

The Browns have lacked discipline and a consistent passing game this season despite the highest expectations they've had since they returned to the NFL as an expansion team, and quarterback Baker Mayfield, himself not long removed from the college game, has struggled mightily in his second season. The Haslams may end up opting for the status quo -- games with division winner Baltimore and division doormat Cincinnati remain -- but several sources around the league believe that if they do make a move, they would at least consult with Meyer.

Uh, no. It's terribly wrong to hire someone just becuase you have a "relationship." That's what got them Kitchens. Go with a proven NFL winner. What about someone like Brian Schottenheimer of the Seahawks?

He's a liar and runs when the going gets tough. He's also a sexual assault enabler, so lower than shit stuck in a pigs hoof.

but the way these Browns operate, it wouldn't surprise me if they did hire another asswipe.

I was trying to think of something that would smell and look vile and that's some of the worst stuff I ever saw when I was a kid at my uncles ranch.

5. Yeah, after some bad drafting, all of a sudden he had heart issues and had to leave UF.

Very short time later, he's at Ohio, and guess what - no heart problems! Instead he found out that the team dr. was a serial assaulter and kept the info hidden. Horrible person and I'd bet big money he's a trumper.

and Redskins owner Daniel Snyder. Sure enough a Trumper. Meyer is used to calling his own shots and won't do well with either one. The Browns organization is a loser. Just because a college coach is successful in college doesn't mean he will be successful in the NFL. The NFL except for a few teams is filled with losers. Steve Spurrier and Nick Saban ran into this, and Jim Harbaugh got ran off from those dolts in the 49ers organization, which is why they had to hire John Lynch as GM to finish cleaning house and rebuild the team. The Browns, Cardinals, Dolphins, Giants, and Jets all exist to sell jerseys, not to win. The Chargers asked the city of San Diego for years for a new stadium, and they wouldn't give them one, so the team moved to LA. The Rams ditched St Louis before that city was able to finish paying for their stadium.

Maybe if he'd cared one bit about the person he could have gotten him help instead of enabling his really bad behavior. Meyer is just the worst, a true trumper in spirit and actions.
