and I have been a football fan since 1962 when I arrived in Chicago.

It was the 2nd time Seahawks were in Superbowl going against New England Patriots and Tom Brady.
Seahawks had the ball on 1-yard line of Patriots. It was 2nd down (may be 3rd down but not 4th).
One yard away from Victory! Seahawks were behind in score at that moment but a touchdown scores a win for them with time expiring in 4th quarter.

The Beast Mode Marshawn Lynch was having a very good day rushing. So what play does the doofus coach Pete Carrol call for? A throw in the end zone, where there were 11 New England players all bunched up!
Lynch had gained 5 yards on every run all day long. With minimum 2 chances he was a certain play to score touchdown with only 1 yard to go. Instead Russell Wilson throws the ball which of course gets intercepted with 4 defenders all around the Seahawks receiver. It was the dumbest play calling in my 47 years of watching football.

also some really bad officiating. At let two blatant ruffing the passer calls that should have gone for the Eagles.

I wish they would just eliminate pass interference and holding penalties all together.
What the hell, football is a physical sport, and what is so bad about preventing the receiver from catching the ball?

Roughing the passer or the kicker are good penalties, because there is no excuse to tackle the QB after the ball is long gone from his hands. Ditto with kicker, after he has already kicked the ball away what is the point in thrashing him?

Roughing the passer is Paramount, and the kicker, but seems everything else should be fair game.

yeah sometimes it is better to avoid watching a game where the team just sucked.

I'll take a win any way I can get it. Regarding interfering with the receiver, it shouldn't be allowed. The DB would just have to tackle his receiver and there would be no offense. Of course, we need pass interference.
