So it looks like Belichick made a mistake with his call for Cam to take a shotgun snap...

and try to run the ball in from the 2 yard line. They had already run that play once and it worked but the Seahawks had to be ready for it again.

Why not take the snap under center and do either a quarterback sneak or a hand off to the running back?

Geniuses sometimes screw up. And I'm not talking "stable geniuses".

Anyway, is it karma for when these same two teams met in similar curcumstances back in the Super Bowl when the Seahawks were at the goal line and knocking on the door but the Patriots stopped them because of a boneheaded call by Pete Carroll?

Oh, yeah. Cam is back. Belchick should've called a better play. That one was too obvious. brush Sep 2020 #2

Oh, right, it was McDaniels' call. I've just come to expect the unexpected from the Pats. brush Sep 2020 #4

But, damn, they gave the Seahawks a good game. I'd roll the dice with Cam!

We don't know what he saw, or what his offense was seeing from the D. And that called would have been made by Josh McDaniels.

They haven't been at the top of the football world in what seems like forever doing obvious thing, even with Cam. Maybe he went to well once too much.
