(3,944 posts)so I was on cloud nine 4 years ago.
A rematch would be Nirvana for me, regardless of the outcome.

(21,020 posts)where I'm from, anyway...
One is either a Pats fan or a Giants fan, and never the twain shall meet.
Or something like that...
Anyway, if the Pats manage to win tomorrow, that means yet another couple of weeks of angst for me. If I had any sense, I would split my loyalties to avoid the stress, but...well...in these parts it could get me injured...

(3,944 posts)supporting both the Pats and the Jets. That would certainly get me injured. Giants? Not so much.
What can I say? I grew up in NJ, lived 8 years in Boston, then got a job back here in NJ.

(64 posts)College football > pro football. The Super Bowl has to get halftime acts like Madonna and the Black Eyed Peas to get folks to watch it. The college national championship doesn't need that tripe.
JonLP24
(29,349 posts)but I went to the first BCS Championship game here at the Fiesta Bowl between Florida State and Tennessee. During halftime, the fans around me kept wondering, "Where is the halftime show?". The halftime show was actually both team's bands and John Glenn making it to mid-field for something but the fans there were expecting some Super Bowl type of halftime show. No point, just your post reminded me of that.

(17,148 posts)Does one know for a certainty that the event they attend will see a champion crowned in college football?
I thought it was more of a popularity contest decided after the games were all played.

(22,488 posts)Very gutsy football in the rain at Candlestick Park. OT too (2nd time for the G-men in NFC Championship games)

(877 posts)A solid New England area game with little interest west of the Mississippi.
I think the ratings will be lower this year.
N.Y.G and Pats, good luck.
My interest will be elsewhere.
