Magic the Gathering: Gate Crash

Anyone getting this set? Its been out for a couple months or so, so what do you MTG players think?

I like the focus on the mixed color, and the one color/or other color casting costs. With Ravenica the color combo's were decent, but with Gate Crash it really makes me happy to see a Red/White, Black/White, and Green/Red cards. I love using those color combo's and its great they are really focusing on those multi colored cards. When I first started playing MTG(back in 98 or so) it was incredibly hard to get your hands on multi colored cards, but with the past two MTG sets they have pushed a lot of them. And damn do I hate the land cards that cost you 2 life in order to bring them out into play untapped. I think Avacyn had a better idea on land cards, if you all ready have the land out(like say a swamp/red) you can play the specialized land untapped. Forcing players to pay two life to have a specialized land come in untapped is, well...not so great.

And another question for MTG players, if my opponent attacks my Planeswalker, can I block for him? I think I can do an instant and do a murder, or say a lightning bolt to kill a creature that is attacking my Planeswalker. I have started using Planeswalkers and they still confuse me a bit.

1. I love MTG but I don't have anyone to play it with anymore.

So I stick to the iPad game app and play people around the world. I love the green/red combo deck.

2. Green/Red is my favorite

combo, its fast, direct damage, great instances(like Might of Oaks/Giant Growth/Rancor). My red/green echo deck is the best all around deck I have, by all around I mean I would/could use this against many different theme decks and do rather well.
