Related: About this forumAnyone here ever play at a gaming hall/parlor?
If so, would you be willing to discuss your experience?
I'm working on a story and it involves a complete noob taking shelter from bad guys in a gaming hall.
Being pretty much a complete noob myself, I'm not sure I can pull it off without some expert advice on the world of PC/XBox/etc. gaming.

(7,501 posts)Do you mean arcade?
Do you mean e-sports stadium?
Do you mean something else?

It's not exactly an arcade, or an e-sports stadium.
You buy time by the hour, it's cheaper if you're also a member. In addition to the part shown here, there are 'streaming studios' people can (again) rent by the hour, too.
I understand they do have tournaments regularly, both LAN and connected to other sites.
Anyone familiar with places like this?

(7,501 posts)I mean there's nothing particularly special about such a space. Nothing that you need specialized familiarity with.
Have you been to an internet cafe? Same thing, just the people are playing games instead of surfing the net.
The only difference might be some of them are playing each other, or a group of 3-4 might be going together, but the reality is usually games are played at home. I've seen them in Vegas as well. Again, nothing special about it.
