Tried to buy a new battery online and it's on Backorder.

This is for a 2004 250cc Honda Reflex scooter. Are motorcycle and scooter batteries so varied that nothing else about the same dimensions and physical configuration could be substituted? I can see some power differences as you go up in engine size and accessories but it seems like a battery for a small bike should be a battery for a small bike.

I took the battery measurements to my local Sam's Club, found a garden machine battery that was just a little smaller, and it's still going strong after 3 years. It's just a 12 volt lead/acid battery, no special technology needed for a '73 BMW motorcycle.
