Please remind your children that speed doesn't kill...

...impact kills.

A body in motion tends to remain in motion; a body at rest tends to remain at rest; problems occur when the former tries to become the latter, very quickly.

From Dallas, Tx, News - Motorcyclist dies in horrific crash while fleeing traffic stop in Garland:

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash early this morning as he fled from a Garland police officer at high speed.

An officer tried to stop the biker about 12:30 a.m. on Miller Road near Jupiter Road, but instead of pulling over, the man fled west on Miller at speeds around 100 mph, leaving the officer far behind, a police spokesman said.

At the Plano Road intersection, the suspect slammed into a southbound Cadillac, spinning the full-size sedan and destroying the motorcycle. The suspect was thrown off the motorcycle, which burst into flames.

“Very horrific crash,” police spokesman Joe Harn told KTVT-TV (Channel 11). “The motorcycle almost disintegrated on impact.”
