Mike Jones has been taken off Premier League refereeing duties this weekend after ruling out Leroy Fers goal against Cardiff.
Jones will instead be fourth official for the top-of-the-table clash between Arsenal and Liverpool.

I'm still not sure what to make of this play. Fer probably shouldn't have gone for the goal, I guess, but the referee made the whole situation worse by not making a clear call. I'm happy to see the referee get demoted for a week, and hopefully NCFC can find a way to net a few goals in the weeks to come.

(3,944 posts)of one team deliberately putting the ball out of play for an injury. Better to draw the ref's attention to the injury and let him stop the play.
Agreed that the ref blew it by not being clear on the restart.
Just a bizarre scene.

(488 posts)Unfortunately for Canary fans, the goal they scored ended up in the wrong net and was counted for the wrong team.
Brutal days like this one make last week's odd call sting even that much more for Canary supporters!
