UEFA Final

Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid

While I would like to say I'm excited about this game, I'm not. This is a huge disappointment to me simply because you have two teams from the same league playing, and not only that they're cross town rivals. I just can't get excited about that. I doubt I'll even watch.

Besides, they did this 2 years ago already.

Typically it's a couple of teams from England/Germany/Italy/Spain in the final (with a France/Holland/Portugal team who makes it every so often), and never from the same country. That's part of what makes it exciting to me.

But others here may feel differently.

10/04/15 - Atl Madrid - 1, Real Madrid - 1
02/27/16 - Real Madrid - 0, Atl Madrid - 1

I say revenge game for Real Madrid.

This wasn't the final I was hoping for either. Single nation finals tend to be less interesting anyway.

I'm also not staying home for this one. I last missed the all Italian final a few years ago (Milan - Juventus, was it?) and by all accounts that was a massive borefest.

But even Chelsea - United and the previous version of the current final two years ago were barely worth watching.

I admit that not caring who wins does take an awful lot of excitement out of the game, and with teams from two different countries it's a lot easier to have your sympathies engaged.

At least Liverpool prevented an all Spanish UEFA cup final as well. That would have been two finals I could skip this year and I have no idea when that last happened.
