Liverpool 4 - Manchester City 3. That was some edge of the seat action there. First game since Philippe Coutinhos move and no VVD and the Reds were just as thrilling as ever. I still don't see anyone catching City, the title is still theirs unless there is a massive collapse on their part.

(3,622 posts)As a Liverpool fan I was expecting a meltdown and if there had been 5 minutes more I think City might have equalised.
Now, all I need is for United to implode tomorrow for my weekend to be complete.
Well done Reds...

(6,261 posts)It was shown at 8am here on the US west coast, and I hope it had a wide audience.
The goalkeeping wasn't great, but that contributed to the excitement. At 4-1, I turned to my wife (a Liverpool supporter) and said "This is a great game, but only if City were to come back will it be a classic." For a brief second, I thought the 4-4 had gone in when Aguero hit the sidenetting. Of course, it was offside anyway.
As an Arsenal supporter, I confess to feeling some satisfaction that the 2003/2004 invincibles are still unique.
And for all that, City are still 15 points clear. They really are incredible.
