Bad news for SF 49r's

Their arguably two leading players, quarterback Jimmy Garappolo, and tight end George Kittle, are both out for weeks to months with injuries sustained in Sunday's game.

Garropolo suffered a re-injury to a strained ankle muscle, and is expected to be out for six weeks, perhaps longer if surgery is needed.

Kittle suffered a broken foot bone and is expected to be out for two months.

Not sure if the team has suitable replacements. Kittle in particular was making quite a splash with his extremely aggressive and successful playing.

Oh well.

I still have my signed 49r's football from 1964.

I can see Niners shopping players before the deadline, stick a fork in this season.

I'd roll with who they have at QB behind Jimmy G, no sense taking on a huge contract.

When most of our best players are out for the year, all we have to look forward to now is a good draft position.
That's football.

I was about 11 years old and the mother of a friend of mine gave us two tickets she got off a Christopher Milk carton. I assume it was some sort of contest. We were sitting in that section when to my surprise they announced my ticket number. My friend handled it graciously, and I returned the favor by bringing the football to his house so we could use it to play in the street, LOL. It's a bit scuffed up from that, but I still have it. Only John Brodie's signature - done in big magic marker - is still legible. The rest were in ball point pen and never were legible to begin with.

I also remember that as I was exiting Kezar, through a tunnel, some teens took a shine to the football and one of them kicked it out of my arms. But they did let me retrieve it. I guess for even them it was beneath their dignity to steal it from a little kid. Anyway, I earned that sucker, LOL.

Though I never went to a football games at Kezar, my Father went all the time and had this foldable seat for the bleachers that I still have.

really put the beatdown on them Sunday afternoon. I was not able to watch the game, but my lady just got a new (used) car, and Sirius XM gave her a three month free trial, so I sat in the car and listened to the game in our driveway.
