Related: About this forumFootball fans urged to ‘shop around’ for cheaper clubs to support
Satire, but raises a good point about how football clubs often take fans for a bunch of mugs.

With Britains football clubs raising the price of a season ticket by around 11% this year, David Cameron is urging fans to shop around for a better deal.
If I was anything like you, then Id like football, declared Cameron. But Id also struggle to find an extra £100 for a seasonal invitation. Thats why if I was you, Id be straight on an Internet, looking for a better value club to swear ones allegiance to.
While an Arsenal seasonal invite can cost over £1,000 a year, a similar deal at Montrose can be had for just £90. With such a variation in the price of standing in the rain and shouting at foreigners, Cameron has promised to force leagues to offer football customers their best deal.
A lot of Manchester United fans just renew their tickets without thinking, claimed Cameron. Whereas the smarter ones now support Caledonian Thistles U21 girls team. Thats why from next week, any fan blindly applying for tickets to a club thats a rip-off will be sent ones to something much more affordable.

(7,774 posts)1. I could not afford season tickets to Liverpool
I'd be at Tranmere or Marine matches maybe the odd Euro Disney match on a Thursday if the tickets are 15GBP.
Cameron seems like a smart dude

...when David Cameron comes across as being more reasonable in satire then in real life, where his government's policies are based on little more then spite and false economy.
