Looking for offbeat things to do in LA

Visiting our daughter there and looking for some different things to do. Any suggestions?

1. Go to Bay Cities Deli in Santa Monica and

have Matt Damon's favorite sandwich (The Godmother). If you sew, go downtown to Michael Levine (two stores across the street from each other.) -- The remnants in the back of the regular fabric store (the other is the home furnishings fabric store) used to be quite the bargain. And in that neighborhood there are other amazing fabric stores.

Santa Monica farmer's market (Wed & Sat, I think) were quite amazing, too.

2. Where will you be in LA, generally speaking?

There's a guy named Rudy Schindler who designed a number of houses in the area.

4. Have a dog and take a selfie

At Tail of the Pup. Iconic spot.
Ride the metro.
Visit the Peterson Automotive Museum.
Tour the Disney Opera House. (Disclaimer: I helped fabricate the structural steel for it.)
Fashion district is pretty cool, too.

6. One of my favorite things -- though it's on the West Side near Venice --

is the Museum of Jurassic Technology http://www.mjt.org/. It truly has to be seen to be believed.

9. I've been trying to see it for years

But something always came up every time I visited LA. What a weirdly great experience. We visited the Norton Simon today and tomorrow we're doing Travel Town. Then downtown because my wife wants to check out the fabric shops.
