2. They haven't been back to our house since we adopted our greyhound!

He's a big boy, much taller than the average greyhound, and jet black. The last time the JW's came by, I had my big boy by the collar so he wouldnt run and he apparently scared the crap out of them because they immediately backed away from the door. Now, my big boy is a big baby and scared of his own shadow, he rarely growls or barks, and acts more like a cat than a dog, but apparently the mere sight of him was enough to scare the JW's away. One of the ladies actually said, as they walked away, that he looked like "a hell hound".

5. I find that telling them I'm not interested works rather nicely.

I don't need to think it's really neat that I scared or terrorized somebody I dont' like. I'm simply not offended by their divergent opinion nor by their existence. I do find it annoying that people come up to my front door and bother me, but that's true of almost everybody when you're an introvert in a world that pathologizes introversion. Lots of things are annoying. I guess that teaches tolerance.

Now, if I could just keep the idjits away who try to sell me electricity plans or vacuum cleaners or ask me to support their scholarship fund by buying magazines. Still, they're just trying to make a living.

6. It wasn't meant to terrorize...in fact the dog didn't bark or growl

I had to hold on to his collar to keep him from running. Greyhounds love to run when the door opens and I was the only one home. In no way was scaring or terrorizing them on my mind. I was just trying to keep my dog that can run 35mph plus from bolting! But he is an imposing figure just on his size.

community and they STILL disregard them , then it's warranted.

Our Tradition of Faith doesn't peddle around neighborhoods.

We lived in apt. complex recently with signs posted that explicitly forbid soliciting of any nature and the new residents across the halls tried proselytizing me and then started leaving junk in my door. I told them of the Faith I adhered to and it meant squat to them. Way to piss people off.

We left shortly after so I didn't report this to mgt.

10. You should only have to tell them once that you're not interested.

After that, they should leave you the fuck alone forevermore, or at least until you move house and have a new address.

Criminal convictions don't work on an organization like this. You have to break their bank accounts.
