Why did you make the world so cruel, when you knew there was nothing we could do about it?

Is gravity cruel?
uriel1972
(4,261 posts)death and gravity are not cruel.
A creator which knowingly creates a universe of suffering and pain without relief would be cruel, if such a creator existed.
guillaumeb
(42,649 posts)What you are suggesting is a perfect, unchanging universe, which could not exist.
The Creator is aware of that.

(34,802 posts)create such a cruel world?
Do we know he is good? Did he create the Universe and then leave it go on untended?
Does he interfere at all with man or the Universe itself?
You seem to know what this Creator knows and does.
uriel1972
(4,261 posts)to suggest you know for certain what an all powerful, universe-creating being wants or thinks.
edhopper
(34,802 posts)the more they usually know exctly what God wants.
As the saying goes "God protect us from those who know they are right."

(42,649 posts)there could be no free will.
edhopper
(34,802 posts)would you interfere? Or would that take the attackers free will away?
And does free will go also to the child, who I assume is not choosing to be killed.
Free will argument for a cruel God is such bullshit.
