I was able to watch less than 5 minutes. The total commitment the Evangelicals have to Trump is just mind-boggling! And the leaders are telling millions of people in church and on TV that Democrats want to destroy Christianity. And that that is what Democrats will do if committed Christian's do not vote for Trimp in 2020

Watching or reading just a tiny bit of what Evangelicals are being inundated with is frightening. The US leaders have ridiculed and ignored this culture way too long. It really started to develop significant national power in 79 with Falwell's Moral Majority. Unfortunately it took the fact that Trump won with the help of 80% of the white Evangelical to wake us all up.

These people want to wipe out every bit of progress the country has made in civil rights. They view all the progress as the work of the devil, a direct attack in God's divine plan for the country

They vote!

2. In a sense they are right

religion is on the downturn. Slower in America than Europe, but overall, it's definitely going down not up. Democrats are the party of science and reason and we have a lot more non-religious people than Republicans do. I can see why they see us as a threat, and to be fair, we probably are. Not because we aren't fervently freedom of religion, we are.

I celebrate any religious person who uses their beliefs for good. I do not begrudge the comfort that religion brings for them. I even envy it a little bit.

But what we don't do is push religion. Even the religious among us don't do that. And if religion isn't pushed, then it starts to lose adherents. Religions spread by proselytization. If you slow that down, so does the spread.

3. The Christian head god doesn't meddle at all in human affairs (see prodigal son)...the Christian

God system gives God's nature to souls which inhabit humanity, serving as our guide...one might say Teacher of Righteousness...for decision making, goals, all the ways we impact life on earth.

4. So much of right wing religion is based on racism. No surprise.

The idea that the Creator planned for white people to subjugate the non-white races in service to global dominance.

In my view, the Monroe Doctrine is the written and philosophical expression of this concept. All of the Americas are meant to be dominated by the white leaders of the US. And of course the Monroe Doctrine was extended to cover the entire world.

On the positive side, these people are a minority. If progressives vote, we win.
