The big religious places of history in Egypt are guarded by simultaneously by regular police and soldiers with automatic rifles and machine guns.

Westerners may find this mixture of Christian saints and Egyptian military to be inconceivable. Egyptians and I surmise most Muslims think it’s normal.

As a kid, my rural family and church helped SE Asia refugees of Vietnam War and more tho i don’t remember much before 1970.

Similarly, my choice of home is balance of a safe place to live and accomplish something worthwhile.
