1. He is certainly welcome where I am concerned

I have seen Bishop Barber many times on MSNBC and enjoy his views on whatever is being discussed.

2. I've never understood why people point to the so-called Christmas Truce in 1914 when it was

immediately followed by 46.5 months of further death and destruction. Even if you buy the hype, you can't ignore what followed. It seems like a very counterproductive analogy to make.

There's lots of hype to go around, I suppose, from lots of angles.

4. An attempt to explain

The gist of it is that during a world war a ceasefire was accomplished for Christmas day that year. Yes, much happened after. But even one day less of suffering casualties during a war should be remembered.
