In the high desert the pressure that builds up before a monsoon is palpable

I am surrounded by thunderheads, yet none have released into my deep river valley. I hear lightning, the pressure drops (measurable) - will we be blessed? I feel shame for not going out and requesting rain from the beautiful sky above me - but, Damn, it's hot.

First world problem.
