Need help from the Pagan/Spiritual community
Unusual string of bad luck.
If you can find time and can bring yourself to do it, I would appreciate warding off spells, or whatever your tradion practices.
100% serious.
I will return the favor if possible.
If you do not believe in such, please do not respond to this thread.
Just got over COVID, lying here with a broken leg, and don't need to hear it.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

(5,687 posts)A few times, each time deeper and the last a bit forceful pushing out the negitivity.
Then meditate on the light of the past, present, and future in the universe and the connection of all...for a moment or two.
When the next big wind that blows through the trees, watch it push out the old and allow for the new.
It's not a written spell or anything, but an acknowlegement of energy in the universe and your connection to it.
Try to be calm and thoughtful when applying this method, and once should do the trick.
It works for me.

(35,454 posts)write down on a piece of paper...so and so...or this or that annoys me...fold it, put it in a baggie and stick it in the freezer. Then leave it be and try to get it out of your mind. The outcome/solution will be what is best for all concerned.

(23,988 posts)I followed your Covid thread. I just got over it as well
actually still dealing with the cough and no taste or smell. Enough of that
Regarding your question, my approach tends toward the proactive. I place mirrors opposite all doors and make sure they are spotless. They reflect any bad energy coming in when the door opens. My grandmother swore by this. My mother always told me it was crazy and my grandmother was as well
which she was not. I have used mirrors for this purpose for decades.
I also keep a string of brass bells at my front door. Theyre beautiful and people always comment on them
Ive purchased each one for almost nothing through the years. My grandmother called them witch bells
she hung hers on a black ribbon, as do I, because black is a shielding and protective color. Because of the vibratory nature of bells they are an extremely effective form of spiritual cleansing. The sound of a bell continues to resonate far beyond the time that you can actually hear it. You can use individual bells throughout your home
keep them clean and leave them in random places
ring them when you walk by.
I guess my thoughts on bad luck is that it doesnt last if you dont give it much energy
see it, acknowledge it and be reminded that it too will pass. Breathe through it and invite positive energy by focusing on it when it happens
no matter how small
be it a beautiful sunset, a good nights sleep or your favorite song on the radio
those bits of lifes loveliness are magic by themselves and they make us feel good. When we feel good, that other stuff loses its power.
Feel better soon. ❤️

(119,543 posts)Visualize an empty egg shell (eggs because they are an almost perfect formula, perfect food). Visualize yourself inside that shell. Furnish it, make yourself comfortable (given your broken leg, think ottoman, sofa, etc). Flood with pink light for healing. (Later, change to white light). Soothing music.. Then, place mirrors all around the outside of the shell. This is protecton, reflects back whatever is being sent to/at you.
Wishing you all the best.

(1,999 posts)Many many years ago I happened to read a faith based romance novel that had a story within it that really helped give me a useful perspective for when we have bad luck. I thought of it when I read your post, which made me think I should share it with you.
A woman was walking on a familiar path through the forest, when she tripped on a branch and broke her ankle. A man she has recently met, walking along the same path, discovers her there and carries her to safety. Her broken ankle causes disruption and upheaval in her life. She is a person of faith and he is not, and they have discussions about this. He asks why her God would allow or cause her to have such an injury, and such inconvenience. She explains her belief that further along the path there could have been snake, waiting to attack as she walked by, and had she not had her mishap at that time and place she might have died from a snake bite. We don't know God's plan. And while she was unable to meet obligations due to being laid up, she explained it teaches her that she needs to learn to rely on others more, give them the opportunity to be of service, and to take a step back and relax.
Simple story. One moral is "It could always be worse" (injecting a bit of humor)
I believe in charms and spells and prayers. I believe in asking for the best possible outcome.
When I was in a car accident several years ago, my first thought after I realized everyone survived the crash was "thank God, thank God, thank you God." I was grateful beyond measure. My Prius was totaled, and I'd recently spent $2,000+ on a new battery! But we all survived, and the universe directed me to a great physical therapist who helped with my neck and back injuries, which their insurance paid for. If I hadn't had that accident, perhaps I would have been involved in a fatal accident down the road. Fatal to me or someone else.
I hope you can deflect and stop any bad energy coming at you. There have been some good suggestions so far. But I would ask you to think about this idea that sometimes what we perceive as bad luck might not be that bad, and might be preventing a worse future outcome. I often think that way, or try to. If you hadn't broken your leg you might have been driving and been involved in an accident with a worse outcome. Or, because of the break you will (or won't) be doing things that connect with (or keep you away from) certain (toxic situations or) people or opportunities.
It's not what you asked for, and I didn't mean to say "look on the bright side" because it sucks that you got covid, and broke your leg after you recovered. But you didn't break your neck!
Blessed be.

(21,534 posts)Beautiful story, beautiful moral.
There is much truth in this, and I see it already starting to unfold.
There are definitely worse things that could have happened.
I was once a caretaker for a woman from her 70's till she passed at 90.
Got a Masters in business in the 1930's, right before WW2.
She lost a leg before the war ended.
Was a source of inspiration, she took dance classes and never once complained.
Right now, I am trying to channel her strength and courage dealing with my temporary disability.
Thanks for the message!

(54,827 posts)As someone who identifies as pessimistically optimistic, this is VERY tough; much easier to give the advice than follow it. However, sometimes, finding something positive to focus on, no matter how small, can reduce anxiety (if that is an issue with you too, like me). Have a favorite movie you know by heart? Watch it. Avoid stressors, including DU if it is one, for a few days. There are times I only breeze thru DU and avoid the news like the plague because I am already in a bad head space. Dodo videos! Because, you know, animals!
On a more metaphysical level, someone mentioned writing down your problems and concerns, then "freezing them". I have done something similar, but I go outside, in a very controlled environment, and I burn them. I usually try to make sure the wind is blowing; a really strong wind is best. Then, see your problems and concerns go up in flames, consumed, and then scattered to the four winds.
Sage can be good too, unless the smell is too strong, and watch out and don't set off smoke detectors (I did that three times; my dogs were NOT amused!). Personally, I like jasmine, lavender, and patchouli. Really, any scent that makes you happy, can help too, but sage is used to ward off things.
Feel better!
