Blessed Samhain to all who celebrate it.

May your days and nights spent in the shadow time be filled with understanding, acceptance, and growth. May they be filled with joy and new opportunities when, once again, the Wheel turns towards the light. A blessed new year to one and all... may your remembrance of those lost this past year, and to all our ancestors who have gone before us, bring you joy in between any tears. A blessing and boon to all witches and pagans who celebrate... together or alone... this night.

With love to you all from an old Crone...

Still, I celebrate Samhain - no matter that it's called Halloween.

All the world is a thin place. It's a wonderous evening.

still, some aspects were kept from both sides, both Irish and American Indian. Samhain and Beltane... miraculously thin veils. Anyone doing any of the arts tonight? I'm going to get my Thoth deck out and hope it speaks to me, despite me using the Lemornath more lately.

Underneath the beauty of the night, I'm also tinged with sadness. Samhain was always a time of growing anticipation, making plans with the coven for the night, the games and feasting aspect, and the writing of ritual to be performed that evening. Now, as I've grown older and into cronehood, others in the group are in the "sandwich" part of life, taking care of kids and parents both. And so they have less time and energy to give in to those special nights. Plus, moving to a smaller city where travel to get anywhere is 10 minutes or less hampers as they all mostly still live in the "big city." It's a phase of this time of life I never thought about before. Anyone else out there experiencing something similar? If so, hugs of empathy...!

I do miss the pitter patter of my daughter's little feet. No grands yet (unless you count her dog. Which you really should. Count her dog, that is. ).

But my other sandwiched friends, as you call them, empty nesters or just plain singles, are around and fun to be with.

Blessings to you on this day after Samhain and every day!

Sincere, kindly and yes, high-minded. It's a reminder that "Pagan Virtues" are just as worthy as "Christian Virtues".
