There's a lot of Hungry People out there...
Hungry for Spirit, hungry for native wisdom, hungry for tribe...
so, here's an idea...instead of 'marketing' our Circles as a group meditation, caring, and support kind of thing, which is often too woo-woo for the 'normals'...
Here's my new idea:
"Native Wisdom 101"
to begin by offering these as short, weekly lunch hour groups...
learn to sit in a sacred circle
learn the ways of the talking stick
learn about the directions and their continued meaning in our lives
learn about sage and other sacred items
I plan on following up with a couple e-books...like a "spirituality for dummies" kind of theme... how to bless and prepare food, how to integrate prayer into daily practice...etc...
what do you guys think? Could this be the gateway to creating the Tribe I have always wanted? Could this be the gateway to actually creating some $$$$ in my life?
i wonder what astrological significance this idea and launch has? Me and Lucie have been visioning this for a while, but the real nuts and bolts are *just* beginning to fall into place...

(4,225 posts)I think that it sounds wonderful.
now i just have to figure out how to make up the flyers so people will know what it's all about...
I know there is a craving for this wisdom...maybe the 2012 thing is affecting folks too

(4,484 posts)I think it sounds like a great idea. Sharing wisdom is always appreciated by the Universe, I think, and it does also create community when seekers join together. Best of luck and good vibes to you for success and letting your heart sing with others.

(14,038 posts)will be *just* enough for those who are just putting their toe into the water, as well as those who may be more into it, but don;t have the time.
Lucie will be working on setting up shop midtown, using a friend's office when they are out at lunch.
I will be cultivating the rural area in meyers, which has quite the community cohesion, and the chiropractor out there is a good friend and his kids go to the same school, etc...good vibe area.
First, i'm making up a 'sign-up' sheet, to get a grip on which days people are most interested in, and whether lunch, mornings or afternoons would work. I am sure once a week my kids can go to a friends house after school for an hour...got a few of them out there in that neighborhood.

People on vacation wanting to immerse themselves in native wisdom, and you can branch out from there.
I wrote a whole bunch but it went *poof* (remember woo-woo 101? You laughed that all my ideas start with "w"; the e-book idea reminded me of that).
(My only word of caution: I'm not sure of your heritage or Lucie's, but if one of you has Native American ancestry -- if that's the wisdom you're focusing on, and it seems to be from what you wrote -- that would help tremendously. Many of Native American heritage are wary of "interlopers" since New Age opportunists have given so many things a bad name. When I've inquired about working with tribes on different projects, authenticity was a huge issue, understandably.)

(14,038 posts)The tourist market is there, Lucie will be offering a celebration circle for brides and/or grooms, so that like a blessing way for a birth, the family and loved ones can share their wishes for the couple in a more intimate setting.
...I have my guided hikes that i like to take and would love to take a few folks out to some sacred areas to meditate or drum...
as far as heritage *clears throat for dramatic pause*
I am actually the Seventh Generation Cherokee from a family that was part of theGeorgia tribes before the trail of tears. The lineage is spotty before 1675, obviously... but I could probably apply and recieve citizenship if I wanted to. it has always meant something to me since I learned about the seventh generation quote ("every action or decision, affects seven generations after you..." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_generation_sustainability
And while Lucie may not have the blood of the tribes, her mentor/shamansister is married to a local tribal medicine man. you have heard me pass on his wisdom from time to time, I call him "Uncle" ...he has land in the valley that belonged to hihs great grandfather and was told to come back and rebuild temple and such on it...so ya, that's some sacred holy land, man!
we have got that part covered for sure...I may need your help in editing, if you'd be up for it.

(14,038 posts)the circle and space will already be blessed and the directions called when you get there...
you walk in, get saged and find the place on the circle/wheel that calls to you...
we sit for the first 15-20 min just music silence and self
then music off, I offer some guided vision and bring them back to grounding
then a chat session, sometimes themed, sometimes open...learning how to take turns with the talking stick
last minutes before leaving, reconnection grounding cords, setting intention for the rest of the day/week
homework/handouts as needed
then once they know how to do drumming with group, wrap up the opening meditation with a hearty drumming once in a while!

(14,038 posts)Lucie has two spaces now opening up for groups, wow...just in a couple days that manifested! I have to hurry up and create the flyers, etc...
also...we found our way to have 'residual' income to keep us going. E-publishing is now totally accesible and the advent on the kindle & nook market is crazy awesome. We are going to try our hand at it this year, one per month, more if necessary. Not just the spirituality basics, but she has literally an entire file cabinet of handouts we have been using for a decade or more... it's material that is already done, we just have to put it together cohesively. hehe...we were laughing about how my title in relation to the book will be "scribe in residence" ...lol, how many lifetimes have I been following her around with a quill?
so now we are actually making a list and creating deadlines
looks like this may be a really amazing year!
