Please forgive me. But I just had to share this with my friends.
I'm 52 years old and I finally got to create the kitchen of my dreams....(within our very limited budget) I did most of the painting and hand picked EVERYTHING in it. We did the kitchen two years ago.
I have carefully found and saved up for Matching dishes,Glasses.and silverware. I hand dyed the table cloths, napkins, ect.
I have NEVER had matching dishes! LOL!
This Christmas was my very first formal (at least for us) dining set up! here are the pictures!

(1,532 posts)you are just a big kid yourself. Nosirree, never in a million years after seeing those perfectly sedate photos.
Howler, there is so much LIFE in those photos -- in your kitchen and your Christmas decorations -- that it could bring 3 or 4 people back to life, I'm sure of it.
Really a fun thing to see. Thanks for sharing those pix.
Howler
(4,225 posts)I pulled a fast one on Mr Howler for those.
When I found them at the hardware store I immediatly ordered all the cupboard hardware.
Then I went home and told mr Howler about them.
He said and I repeat "We will get them after we pay off some of these bills" LMAO!!!!
I said ' Oh.....You thought I was asking.....ummm no worries hon they are all already ordered" snort! When will men ever learn.????
OneGrassRoot
(23,410 posts)Silly him.
Silly men.
I also wish someone could explain to me for the love of Gawd and everything that is holy! Why! oh Why! When you ask your husband to help you. A woman still has to stop what shes doing to find and gather together everything he needs to help you!!!!
I mean....You have to help him, to help you, which really isnt any help at all! LMAO!!!!

I'm curious, what was in the wrapping paper on the plates?
Howler
(4,225 posts)OH! arent those cool! they are called English "Crackers" when you pick them up you pull and twist the ends and a little cap goes off like a mild fire cracker.
Then you open it and there is a paper crown,a little toy,and a joke or a riddle inside.

Tsiyu
(18,186 posts)The best Christmas cracker memory was going out to eat at a Chinese Restaurant in Soho (London - yeah- we hummed the werewolf tune as we walked to it lol) . It was a week before Christmas.
At a nearby table, a group of eight office workers opened their crackers, put on the silly little hats and did the riddles and jokes for each other. Everyone in the restaurant was enjoying their fun.
You are the hostess with the mostest indeed.....
Howler
(4,225 posts)Oh yeah Crackers are a blast!!!!! And you just gots to wear the paper hats!!!
WOW Tsiyu! You've been to England!!!!! You so rock!!!!!!! i just love you!
Tsiyu
(18,186 posts)I only went once, on a music tour with fellow musicians, but I always get nostalgic and want to be back there when December comes. And I always remember how much fun those Brits had with their crackers - not the least bit stodgy!
I was thinking at the time that you couldn't get Americans to act so silly in a restaurant, but those office peeps were having as much fun as little kids. It was a nice moment in life i always remember when I see a cracker!
Howler
(4,225 posts)What do you play? do you have any C.Ds out? Can I get your music?
Wow Tsiyu Just Wow!!!1 You are very accomplished!
Tsiyu
(18,186 posts)Jill of all trades, master of none as they say....
nothing out commercially....yet lol. I'm a little old to be a pop star now but then one never knows!
My kids keep bugging me to record something for them, but right now my duo's latest gig is running on the local access channel as a promo for the club where we played open mic night recently. The videographer called to let me know he was using our stuff for the promo. He used to tape my son's heavy metal band, so he gets a kick out of taping mama, too.
Well, off to my bandmate's place to make cookies with his grandbabies. We were supposed to do it last week but the babies (three and one) got pneumonia last week!!!! They are fine, now. So I am bringing my vast collection of cookie cutters and we are going to make and decorate sugar cookies with the babes. And then do some jamming.
Have a great day, Howler!!!!!
Howler
(4,225 posts)You have a wonderful day too Tsiyu!
