My heart is breaking ..
for this puppy. If those of you who are animal lovers don't know about a few foundations that rescue pets, let me tell you.
The one I'm closest to is Leave No Paws Behind. They rescue from shelters. The one that makes me cry (tears of joy) the most is Hope for Paws. Eldad rescues animals from the streets. He is amazing. Most of the animals he rescues go to The Bill Foundation. I'm not as familiar with them.
They are all in California, so all I can do for them is spread the word. And watch and recommend their videos.

The Leave No Paws behind posted about this poor pup four days ago. No foster has come forward. I'm not certain if the foster just needs to be willing to get the dog from the shelter, and then Toby (LNPB) will take it from there, or if the foster care extends to the period following release from the vet. All medical bills are paid by donation via the rescuing agency, LNPB, Bill, HfP.
I know some of you live in California. If you know ANYONE who can help rescue Mr. Beagle from the shelter, please tell them about this. I've made an appeal to the Bill Foundation just today. This dog is breaking my heart, and I don't know what else to do. His skin is so messed up and painful. And he is locked up all alone.

Local Foster needed in the Los Angeles, Ca area. Please e mail info@leavenopawsbehind.com if you can help! Mr beagle, is at the Baldwin Park shelter and he has some serious skin issues. He is a senior probably between 10-12 and he's missing fur on his lower half which appears to be pretty irritated and sore. His rear/tail area looks extended out (see photo in album) and the base of his tail could either have a fat pack or possible mass around it or something else entirely going on.
Baldwin Park 626 430-2378, ID 4578484
All medical expenses are paid through Leave No Paws Behind.

(5,946 posts)but my 15 year old Holly is a one dog per house type dog. She does not like company animal or person, I think part of this is fully owning me as well.
Next time I think I will become a foster for more than one now that I don't have to worry about the beach any more.

(14,881 posts)I'm so sorry I can't be of help. Hopefully a local person will come forward. Have you posted this in pets? How about the lounge?

Why Syzygy
(18,928 posts)I haven't checked on this. It upset me so much I had to pull way back. I don't know how ready I am for this work. Trying to be. I'm glad I can make small donations so I don't feel completely helpless. I'll try to let you know what I find out. I haven't been able to spend much time at facebook either. I'm weary from a few hangers on who still try to hurt me in order to heal themselves.
