(135,882 posts)Between 1999 and 2003, Cruz served as the director of the Office of Policy Planning at the Federal Trade Commission, an Associate Deputy Attorney General at the United States Department of Justice, and as Domestic Policy Advisor to U.S. President George W. Bush on the 2000 Bush-Cheney campaign. In addition, Cruz was an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, where he taught U.S. Supreme Court litigation, from 2004 to 2009.

(22,031 posts)I always think of Libra as diplomatic and as someone who wants smooth relationships. That sure isn't Ted.
That is my first reaction but I have to look at the rest of the chart to see what explains his divisiveness.

(339 posts)Yes, he has moon, ascendant, and uranus in Libra, which gives him his superficial charm and what would be good looks if he weren't smirking all the time lol...
But that moon with uranus makes him more aquarian in nature, very detached and, even worse, can be sociopathic tendencies...everyone is already pointing out what a HUGE liar he is, saying extremely bizarre things which is truly scary if he really believes them...because that makes him incredibly stupid as well as mean...a dangerous combination....
Looking at that venus, mars, jupiter in scorpio opposed by saturn, one would be tempted to think that maybe he has a huge sexual appetite that has been suppressed by his harsh religious upbringing and sublimated into a total capricornian lust for power (sun at critical degree 0)....pluto in the twelfth could be a treasure trove of complexes....
His mercury and sun in capricorn are not combust (close together), but that mercury retrograde makes him cling to his ideas...and anytime the sun and mercury are in the same sign the person can sometimes identify too closely with their own ideas and not be open to other people's...
As to his resume, it seems as if it's true that it's not what you know, but who you know lol...

(48 posts)They come across as charming and pliable but are anything but. Cardinal signs like to call the shots.

(22,031 posts)On any level? He seems to be disliked by everyone. Even his former school mates disliked him.

one book review:
"Funnier and franker than your best friend after three drinks."
Astrologer/author Matthew Abergel
I bought this book when I took an astrology class years ago because the class only taught about the positive traits of each sign. This book gives all the negative traits of each sign, and the descriptions are accurate and LOL funny.

(339 posts)Perhaps we astrologers are inclined to sugar coat because most people at base have low self esteem and we think we need to encourage them...
But you're right, we all have the Shadow....
The rule is...when under stress, every sign goes into the negative aspects of the opposite sign...if you tell people that and give them examples of themselves, they almost always go"That's ME"
i know that's true of myself and everyone i know well....

(4,482 posts)Hazel Dixson-Cooper's description of Capricorns fits Ted Cruz to a T.

(48 posts)so he's going to naturally have both influences. Not a true Cap by a long shot.

(339 posts)he announced under a void of course moon, which is the kiss of death...and it the 12th to boot...but it was the 23rd, which means there is cosmic significance...
Notice that he is having great jupiter in leo aspects right now, which are feeding his ego like crazy....
Also notice that they are ending this summer...he will probably flame out by halloween...
pluto in the 12th indicates skeletons in the closet and if he starts getting too much traction, look for the Bush crime family and their minions (K Rove et al) to take him out...

(3,998 posts)I am actually hoping that every rightwing nutjob runs for president, flops and that the pendulum swings back to the left. I live in Texas, so to say that I am over these asshats is an understatement.
When I saw Cruz's logo, I was hopeful that it was foreshadowing his campaign going up in flames, so now I'm looking forward to Halloween!

(12,125 posts)I had to go check what was in my 12th (Sun & Mercury, except when I do a relocated chart and then it's Mars) based on what you said. Please keep on sharing that wisdom and knowledge you have!

(5,510 posts)Also the bucket pattern w/Saturn in Taurus as the handle in the 8th. Relies on other people's money & feels entitled to it. Might even resort to using that $ for nefarious purposes.
He is so self-absorbed w/virtually all planets in the first quadrant of his chart. He sees only himself as important on this planet. I expect a supreme verbal blooper will "out" his real self during he campaign.
He might be another Caligula.
Should be entertaining at least, even if it's hard to watch.

This would indicate that he can believe he's annointed with some "truth" or "message" to share with humanity. At least that seems that way to me. Not that it's a negative thing but it depends on the message, right? In other words, the ability to be deluded is enhanced with Neptune joined with the Sun.
I don't think he stands a chance because of his views--too conservative for the masses, I am sure. He does have Aquarius in that N. node...His destiny is to connect with humanity as a whole.
*Edit: I think that politicians with lots of Air in their charts can be content to spout their ideas rather than run seriously. Newt is a Gemini and he is a prime example of this.
