Cindy Harvey has passed on.
I don't know if anyone remembers her here-- I can't remember her handle/user name on this forum. Anyway, I met her here and we became FB friends and she was active on the ASAH FB group. She had cancer and after a valiant effort to overcome it, she died peacefully on 8/16 surrounded by family, people who loved her.
I was thinking of her today and missing her.

(37,757 posts)Because about that time of 8/16, I was hit with some impressions of a particular former poster from here. I wonder if I was picking up on Cindy.
The person's posts that I am thinking of were unique. I really don't think it was Cindy, as the name "Laura" somehow sticks out in my mind.
However, due to the fact that I often experience impressions when someone crosses over--and then I find out about their passing later--I'm wondering.
Whatever you can recall, eilen, might help me.

(13,428 posts)I dunno if it was me you were wondering about, but I am very much alive and kicking. I cruise DU about one a week for the Sunday thread in the Lounge, but I really don't do too much on here any more. The attitude on the board got to me, so I took a time out. After a few weeks, I realized that I was not ready to cut all ties with DU because it used to mean a lot to me. There are still people here that I care about (however, it does seem like I know a lot of dead people theses days...)
Peace to you all. I'm around, just not terribly active these days.

(29,414 posts)I was thinking of asking people on FB, as that's where I saw her the most and knew her by Cindy. Where did she live? I ask, because the only other DU-name that comes to mind is texanwitch. I have met her in person but can't find my contact info from her now.
Maybe some other members here will chime in with their knowledge.

(75,480 posts)her out as little as I was able to when she lost her home. Although I hadn't heard from her for a long time, I kept her in my thoughts because I knew she was fighting cancer and needed to put all her efforts in that.
She had beautiful posts when she had time to do them. RIP Cindy. The world is a lesser place with you gone.

(14,881 posts)I hadn't heard anything from Cindy in years, and then out of the blue she contacted me in January. We emailed a lot in January and February, and then her emails became less frequent, from several per day to one every week or two.
I provided what support I could, mostly in the form of researching treatments and symptoms, but also we talked briefly on the phone a couple times. She had stage 4 Small Cell Lung Cancer -- the same disease that took Janus Ascending several years back.
She spent her last couple months mostly sleeping. I would get an email every couple weeks saying she was tired and she would email me later as she was going to sleep.
The last I heard from her, she said she'd broken her arm and asked if we could continue talking by phone instead of email. Unfortunately, I'm on tracfone, with very, very poor reception across the country, so I wasn't able.
namaste, Cindy

(29,414 posts)I think we can now contact Skinner about getting her added to the memorial page. I wasn't entirely sure of her DU-name before, and didn't want to get something like that wrong.

(8,614 posts)We were friends on FB but my computer was giving out and I wasn't able to log on there for most of August. Last I had heard, she was getting better. How very sad.
Condolences to her friends here.
