Not sure how to ask this question...
so I'm sorry in advance if it's awkward. Does anyone here have any resource or online community suggestions for someone newly interested in wicca/paganism for solitary practice? Those are such umbrella terms that I'm not sure it's correct.
I'm old and have never engaged in any particular practice, but I've reached a point in my life that I'm pulled toward a very specific path: magical writing. That's what I'm calling it but don't know the proper term.
The reason I'm called toward this is because, in the past as a ghostwriter of two novels, I had the (at the time) disconcerting experience of having what I wrote manifest. It's the one creative activity where I lose myself and get into an almost meditative state. Oh, it just dawned on me that that is called automatic writing. I don't necessarily want to channel but rather have a practice over which I have more control - a more intentional practice, if that makes sense.
I do have several books on Celtic magic and recently even got the Rider-Waite tarot deck even though I have never been called to tarot before. So I'm wanting to develop a practice but would appreciate some guidance.
Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks!

I don't know anything about Wicca, but I can suggest a book that you might find helpful: Tarot for Writers. It's a great resource, although I'm not sure it's what you're looking for.
I would just caution you to be careful manifesting things. The old law of unintended consequences and all... LOL
I'll be interested to see how others reply to your post!

(23,407 posts)Thank you! Im not even sure manifesting is the correct word, hence the disclaimer that it was an awkward post. lol
I suppose what Im looking for is something thats like most people search for it some point in their life: a ritual or practice that provides some measure of comfort. And for myself that means something participatory.
