Romney's eyes

Our local news is right-leaning in its political coverage, so when the run the national politics stuff I mute the sound in the morning. I can't take that crap so early. Well, I muted this morning and continued to watch the TV. What I noticed when they showed Mitt Romney speaking was his eyes. They were so bizarre. They were WIDE open like a frightened animal when he spoke, then he had some sort of rhythmic anxiety blinking when he accepted the audience applause at his planned pause in the speech; and his body was stiff as a board. It was so strange! I have never seen that in a politician. Not even other Republicans. The complete lack of comfort he showed in being up there on display was obvious. What else, I don't know. John McCain certainly never looked like that, no matter how much I disagreed with every word out of his mouth. Mitch McConnell looks like a turtle but he doesn't have that kind of strange facial and body language. The President is just the opposite, looking as comfortable in front of a crowd as if he were just standing with a group of friends.

I was blown away by it, money must be the only way this guy has been politically successful at all, I think he had real disdain for the people he was speaking in front of, as if it was beneath him to even speak to common people of his own party. It was just the strangest thing. His body language made Rand Paul look sane.

Something's lurking around in Mitt, I don't know what it is, but something's there that's just not right, and I mean beyond his points of view and general greed.

that shallow, frightened, cut-off gaze of unreality.

NOt just romney... look at your collection of republican governors..

Scott Walker, Rick Scott, Tom Corbet..

They all have that reptilian gaze,
those soul-less eyes that have no depth, no meaning,
no sense of awe and responsibility..
there is no compassion, no spirit fire..

just basic, instinctual, reactive fear.

Oh we as a human race have so far to go..

traits of a sociopath.....all of them.

Reptilian, yes. Watch Rick Scott blink, just like a lizard.
They either have an empty vacant look (Walker) or crazy eyes ( Scott, Bauchmann, Rmoney, etc.)
I have commented to my husband b/4 that Rick Scott in particular looks alien.

These creatures have no idea how to be human, they are "acting" roles that they "think" are humanesque.
Soulless false suits. No feeling, just voracious consumers of resources.

and not only that...take a look at the people behind him when he's giving one of this speeches. They look like zombies! I keep telling my husband that it's like you can really see that these people are NOT awake...it's like they are robots. Even when he says something that you would think would get applause by his "followers"...only a few clap and it's looks like they are just going through the motions. I totally agree, there is something REALLY weird going on with Romney and his sheeple.

For quite some time now, I've felt he is just playing a role & they will pull some type of "stunt".

Think about it, he has done nothing that is remotely appealing to any voting group. Most of his own party don't even want him. He has said some of the most outrageous things (cookies, $10,000 bets, corps are peeps, etc.). He's pissed off women, Hispanics, young people, and just about any voting block out there. He is just a bad acting mannequin.

Watch the VP choice closely, they will either get rid of R b/4 or after election....one way or another, that's my psychic feeling.

He must not win, that's all I can say.

I firmly believe that not winning definitely increased John McCain's longevity. Some religious right groups were praying for him to win then LITERALLY die after the election, they even posted this horrible crap online, it was totally evil. I always questioned if they would have kept their hateful designs to just prayer if he had won.

Mittens has probably had so much Botox that his eyebrows are in the back of his head. But to take it to the level that you did (intuiting his "disdain" for the audience, which I have never sensed) is what I wish I did not have to confront when coming to this forum.

So what? Obama looks so cute or handsome or nice? I go by what people DO and if people send more troops somewhere they shouldn't have been in the first place or if someone makes a call to send drones to drop bombs where they should not, then that is IT. And I may shake my head and think: "But he SEEMS so sweet..." No matter. There is Universal Law and it cannot be circumvented with pretty words or a Pepsodent smile.

The only reason I am bringing up (or did so on the OGR's thread) is because of this thread attacking Mittens and seeming to give our dear leader a pass. The killing of innocents is a deal-breaker.

At least for me

Now, on with the countdown!

but we don't typically (ever) give equal time to Republican talking points. It is not only considered poor form to do so but can get your posting privileges revoked if it becomes a habit, or if the post offends your fellow posters. It is, after all, called Democratic Underground.

You are entitled to your opinions, beliefs, feelings, and freedom of expression, of course.

PPR'd = TS'd in DU3. Watch for them to return with another name soon. This has been the fourth name that I know of for this individual. Eventually, they'll tire and go play somewhere else. You would think that someone with that good of computer skills would find better ways to spend their time other than annoying people because they don't see everything their way.

the guy who had the huge dance hit, "Achy Breaky Heart." For all his singing and playing, he couldn't dance a lick. So weird to watch a musician with a terrible sense of rhythm. Then, I found out he was raised in a Pentecostal Church, a sect that forbids dancing ("unseemly shaking of the limbs&quot and it sort of made his a-rhythmia fall into context. I get a sense that Mitt has that robotic physicality because he was also raised 'outside' of popular culture. I know it's weird, but now when I see one, I think of the other.
