☦️ Truth be told, I'm hurting, struggling, grieving

and feel imprisoned, shunned, avoided, in a desert where there are no streams, doubting, not trusting fully, confused, distraught, heartsick..

No interest in any holiday hoopla. Christmas Eve and the Feastday of the Nativity hold meaning, but also diminished as in my participation. Have never ever expected or could have conceived such a state in which I would find myself.

Ukraine and now the ME is a profound weight upon my soul.

Simply speaking out into the cosmos.

Of course, those weilding power in high places set the tone for those who are led to follow along.
Hearts of many will wax cold in the latter days.

I don't want to pry, but are there things in your personal life that are bothering you?..I ask because your post sounds so very sad and it concerns me...I've struggled with depression for most of my life, so if you need someone to talk to, I'd be happy to be of any help I can be. If you think I might, don't hesitate to pm me.

caused pain and suffering to other humans has BEEN GOING ON ACROSS THE GLOBE since just about FOREVER.

The pain and depression of it all comes at us these days face-first on our computer screens. We are still deep in the information age.

We keep doom-scrolling hoping to find some glimmer of good news, but find more bad than good because BAD NEWS SELLS.

Maybe try taking a break from the news and get out and taked more walks or listen to some favorite music or read some recommended books.

This, despite the enormous pressures of our household. But the challenges in our world are immeasurable. As the DU community we try to stay informed and engaged. And that may not always be possible or healthy.

I am not particularly religious, but I'm looking forward to singing all the carols Christmas morning. Singing truly can heal the weary soul. I highly recommend.
