Thinking of these verses today

"Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you. Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter. You have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who was not opposing you." (James 5:1-6)

“But woe to you who are rich,
for you have already received your comfort.
Woe to you who are well fed now,
for you will go hungry.
Woe to you who laugh now,
for you will mourn and weep.
Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you,
for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.
(Luke 6:24-26)

I’m also reminded of the parable of the sheeps and goats from “The Sermon on the Mount” in Matthew. Did you feed me when I was hungry? Did you clothe me? Did you give me drink when I was thirsty? Did you provide me shelter when I had none? Did you visit me as a prisoner? Every one of these GOPers failed that test today...

As long as they did it in an honorable and ethical manner. Or win the lottery.

That said, everyone must help their fellow man in ways they are able (Luke 12:48):
But he that knew not and committed things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall much be required; and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
