Sorry I've been gone but...

...it's been a busy spring. My child has finished her confirmation classes and now is officially a member of the church, as of this last Sunday. Getting her ready has been exhausting, considering we had to make time between all her activities and such that seem to be expected nowadays.

Her decision to join was all her own, in case anyone is interested. I made it known that she could hold off for another year, five years, or even choose never to become a member. The same was said of baptism, which she chose on her own. I wanted her experience to be one that she chose instead of something that she felt forced into pursuing.

Now that's done and school is out I should have more time to check in here.

I'm glad you gave her a choice in both cases. Being baptized as a baby and going through confirmation basically just to get gift money and please my parents meant nothing to me, and a big part of why I was baptized a couple months ago, I wanted to make the decision for myself.

and shouldn't be something done out of obligation or taken lightly. I wanted her to be certain of her choice and not make that choice because she felt that I expected it.

Now I'll have more time to check in, since the busy season is over and we aren't constantly running.
