Happy Ash Wednesday!
I was the only altar guild at the 7:00 am service. I'm still learning and afraid of making mistakes, but the priest came along behind me and fixed my mistakes. I love altar guild!
On into Lent...

(48,219 posts)First everyone comes up and gets their ashes. Then the same people come up again and receive Communion. During the imposition of ashes, we sing Allegri's "Misere Mei."

(47,509 posts)We have a choral service his evening. I love the early morning service. I love being the first person at the church in the morning.

(9,709 posts)And I'm often a communion server (Lutheran). I like feeling that I've contributed to making the service special. Was not able to make Ash Wed. service this year due to my mom being in the hospital.
