(Jewish Group) Kentucky legislators apologize after using antisemitic phrase
A pair of Kentucky lawmakers apologized for using an antisemitic phrase during a recent legislative committee meeting.
Sen. Rick Girdler (R-Somerset) and Rep. Walker Thomas (R-Hopkinsville) both said "Jew them down" during a discussion concerning the price of two leases in Graves County, which was devastated by tornadoes in December, according to The Courier-Journal.
The Lexington Herald-Leader first reported that Thomas asked the state to "Jew them down on the price" and could be heard laughing shortly after a presentation to the legislature's Capital Projects and Bond Oversight Committee about the Department of Corrections' $1 lease from a Mayfield company and another $1 lease for the Cabinet of Health and Family Services, according to WKYT.

Girdler, who co-chairs the committee, repeated Thomas' question before quickly correcting himself, the outlet added.
