Related: About this forum(Jewish Group) I attended a gay pride event today.
I wore a T-shirt with a similar symbol below:
My Star of David has the red on the right and purple on the left. I like wearing it to Pride events as it pisses off ALL the right people.
There were, of course, protestors. Some were just foul. "AIDS: Judgement or Cure?", "EVIL should be HATED!", "Stop Sexualising ( sic ) Children!" The last two signs were held by Muslim children. Three children and one father were Muslims, the rest of the protestors, about 20, were Christians. No Jews that I saw, except at the event and they were queer, like me.
When I got stopped by one of the "good Christians" who just wanted to "witness" to me, the woman asked if I was "saved". I pointed at my shirt and said, "I am good!". She said, "No! Have you accepted Jesus as your savior?" Again, I pointed at my shirt and said, "I am all good. Thanks, but no thanks." She then proceeded to say; "But you aren't saved." Finally, I just looked right at her and said, "You do realize your Lord and Savior and I share the SAME religion, right? Jesus was Jew!" She went slack-jawed, I just smiled, flung my hair (it's pretty long now after two years of not being cut), and sauntered off.
All in all, it was pretty nice for small town Oklahoma.

(54,854 posts)There is Tulsa and OKC, and few others that are actual cities, but most places here are small-ish cities (I can get anywhere in my town in 10 minutes or less...even if I hit all the lights!).
